From her garden studio in Poole, Reba creates distinctive hand-thrown stoneware vases, inspired by the natural beauty and neutral tones of clay. Her focus on simple form and texture gives each piece a calm, tactile quality, reminiscent of smooth pebbles.
From throwing to finishing, every vase is lovingly crafted by hand, making each one unique and full of charm.
Dorset artist Stella creates expressive abstract landscapes inspired by the sea. Spending countless hours beside, on and in the water, she captures its ever-changing moods, energy and light through layered mixed media, expressive mark-making and a palette rich in blues.
John is a Dorset-based artist capturing the raw beauty of the coast and landscape. Working in oil, acrylic and mixed media, he creates dramatic scenes where light and mood take centre stage. His art is deeply rooted in the Jurassic Coast, particularly the coastline around West Bay and Bridport.
Stephen's training and education in painting have spanned several decades, including a variety of part-time programmes and professional workshops, mainly in East Anglia and London. Landscape painting has been his main focus, particularly in East Anglia and the West Country.
He is drawn less to the literal representation of a particular place than to the feelings and memories a landscape can evoke. Through painting, Stephen seeks to capture the space between what is seen and what is remembered.
UK illustrator and printmaker Paul is known for his bold, dynamic lino and mixed print techniques. Inspired by movement, his work captures the energy of sport, crowds and dance halls through flowing lines and layered colour. Every piece is hand-cut and hand-pulled — original prints, never reproductions.

Born and raised in Dorset, Erica's work is rooted in a deep connection to her surrounding landscape. Working in acrylic with a palette knife, she creates vibrant atmospheric paintings rich in light and emotion. Drawing on sketches, photographs and memory, her landscapes remain rooted in real places while moving towards abstraction and simplification.
Sue has painted for most of her life in Dorset, finding her true rhythm outdoors, working directly from the landscape in oils. Landscape, coast and countryside are her favourite subjects, and she embraces the unpredictability of plein air painting to capture fleeting light, changing weather and the energy of the elements. Wind, insects, grass and even the occasional mud-splattered canvas become part of the story.
Working quickly with big brushes and bold strokes, Sue captures air, distance and atmosphere, allowing light and shadow to lead while detail takes a back seat.
Vicky Finding's vibrant paintings are inspired by the dramatic coastlines and landscapes of Dorset, the West Country and beyond. Working with colour, emotion and movement, she draws on her close connection with the sea, from Dorset's cliffs and beaches to sailing adventures across the Mediterranean, Caribbean and Indonesia. Vicky has exhibited extensively since 1998, from Dorset and St Ives to London, Bristol, Brighton, Edinburgh and Cork Street.
Rebecca, also a Dorset artist, has painted since she was young, alongside a long career in graphic design, and exhibits her oil paintings and monotypes at venues across the UK. Her demi-realistic oil paintings take inspiration from her love of travel and of other cultures, intertwined with an intense observation of the shade and colour of ever-changing landscapes.
Having grown up in India, where colour is relentless, and now living in Dorset, the contrast between the two places is central to Mala's painting.
She begins with landscape, using its graphic lines and edges as a framework before transforming it through colour. Working in oils and acrylics, Mala creates richly layered surfaces inspired by both Indian textiles and Dorset's rugged geology. Grids, striations and woven textures recur throughout her work, balancing restraint with exuberance.
Dorset may provide the starting point, but colour usually has other plans.
Laura is a British contemporary artist known for expressive cloud paintings, abstract cityscapes and atmospheric seascapes.
Working in oils and acrylics, her paintings are characterised by movement and a varied, vibrant palette. Based in Buckinghamshire, Laura draws inspiration from the Chiltern woodland and countryside, as well as Dorset's Jurassic Coast, where she has strong ties to Bridport and Poundbury.
Often painting instinctively from memory in her home studio, Laura creates expressive works full of atmosphere and energy.
Victor, born and raised in South Africa, now works from his Dorset studio. A former game ranger, he blends African influences, nature and archaeology with modern forms. Using a variety of wood he often cuts himself, Victor creates cultural pieces and unique bowls from scorched ash to green oak with copper inlays. Each has its own character and story.
Ed Marriott is a talented young artist from Swanage whose semi-abstract paintings and illustrations celebrate the towns, landscapes and coastline of Dorset and the wider South West. With a passion for art that began in childhood, Ed has been exhibiting his work since the age of eight.
His distinctive work has appeared in a range of galleries, and his evocative illustrations of the local landscape continue to engage and delight visitors.
Janet is an abstract oil painter inspired by dramatic skies, light-filled seas, reflections and landscapes. Working from plein air sketches and watercolours, she creates expressive paintings layered with colour, movement and texture. Based in Teddington by the River Thames, Janet's work is exhibited and collected internationally.
Michelle captures the energy and movement of animals through expressive oil paintings inspired by quick life studies. From intimate sketches to large statement pieces on stretched canvas, her work is full of light, motion and dramatic colour.
For over 20 years, West Dorset artist Charlotte has captured the beauty of the Jurassic Coast and surrounding countryside through atmospheric oil paintings inspired by hidden paths, rural architecture and expansive sea views.
Sharon is a West Dorset potter inspired by rolling hills and the wild Jurassic Coast. From her studio, she creates timeless stoneware designed to be used, held and loved every day.
Made in small batches, each piece is carefully thrown, glazed and fired by hand — durable, practical and quietly beautiful, with no two ever the same.
West Dorset ceramic artist Diana was a semi-finalist on The Great Pottery Throw Down. Originally trained as an art, design and textiles teacher, she now creates functional ceramics using porcelain and T material, combining throwing and handbuilding with underglaze, painted designs, sgraffito and inlay. Diana has also developed her own distinctive blue, copper green and transparent glazes.
Based in Dorset, Caz paints the wild beauty of Dorset, Devon and Cornwall, shaped by long walks, sketchbooks and a deep connection to the land. Dramatic coastlines, sweeping countryside, familiar paths and new horizons all find their way into her work. Caz's unique style distils the landscape to its essence, balancing bold shape and vibrant colour to capture its strength, energy and spirit.
Dorset artist Judy is drawn to the vibrancy, immediacy and versatility of soft pastels, with colour playing an increasingly bold and expressive role in her work. En plein air sketching and sketchbook travelogues provide the inspiration for her larger studio works, drawn from Poundbury viewpoints and the natural world and moving towards abstraction. Flowers, seed heads and pathways recur throughout her work, often evoking a sense of distance and quiet infinity. Judy is a member of the Pastel Society of America and has exhibited for the past decade in the annual Pastel Society Exhibition at the Mall Galleries.
Following in the tradition of British landscape painting, Colin Willey paints en plein air around his home in Dorset, inspired by the county's big skies and dramatic light. He won the Diana Brooks Prize at the 2005 Art for Youth exhibition and has exhibited with the Royal Institute of Oil Painters, New English Art Club and Royal Society of Marine Artists. His work has featured in The Artist and Ideal Home, as well as on BBC1's Flog It!. His paintings are held in the permanent collections of the House of Lords and HRH Princess Anne.
Morgan is a Dorset-based artist working primarily in oils, inspired by the coastline's rugged cliffs and sweeping beaches. Her work explores the relationship between light, colour and texture, capturing the changing energy of land and sea. Often painting outdoors, Morgan responds to shifting skies and weather, bringing immediacy and atmosphere to each piece.
In 2025, Morgan received the John Lynn Commemorative Award for Young Artist from the Royal Society of British Artists and was named Abstract/Experimental Artist of the Year by the SAA.
Roy Winstanley is a professional fine artist based in Weymouth, Dorset. Educated at Westminster College, the University of Leeds and Goldsmiths, he enjoyed a career in art education before becoming the first Chair of Dorset Art Weeks in 1992 and 1994.
Roy has exhibited with the Royal Watercolour Society, the Royal Society and the Sunday Times Watercolour Competition, and was a prize winner in the John Laing Landscape Competition. His work is held in collections at home and abroad, including a large group of paintings displayed in a royal villa in Rabat.
Full of colour and nostalgia, Roy's paintings draw on a wide range of interests and memories. Each work develops through an evolving dialogue with the painted surface.
Liz's detailed oil paintings blend fantasy with keenly observed reality, inspired by everyday life and travel. Influenced by the precision of the Old Masters, her landscapes are rich in intricate detail, often featuring a lone running figure.
Living on Portland, Liz draws inspiration from Dorset's shifting light, wide horizons, quarries, pebbled shores and restless seas.
